A faithful replica of the iconic Air Raid Precautions (ARP) badge worn by civilian volunteers across Britain during the Second World War.
During WWII, men and women were encouraged to join the Air Raid Precautions service through widespread recruitment posters and newspaper advertisements, calling on civilians to help defend their communities on the Home Front. Those who volunteered and successfully completed the required training were officially issued an ARP badge by their local authority.

ARP volunteers carried out vital duties including air raid warden patrols, fire guarding, rescue work, and civilian assistance during enemy air attacks. Wearing the badge marked them out as trained civil defence personnel and symbolised their commitment to protecting others during Britain’s darkest hours.
This replica captures the distinctive crown and lettering of the original issue, finished in a traditional darkened metal to reflect the wartime appearance. The reverse features a secure pin fitting, making it suitable for display or wear.
